We had a great time at Night of the Horse. The
Southern California Icelandic Riders performed a demo in front of a sold
out crowd in Del Mar in 2008. 10 of us rode in the demo in costume and we had
several assistants on the ground.

Landsmot was as exciting as ever. The fast tolt finals were breathtaking
as Rokkvi passed everyone, he is owned by my son's wife's family... Katie
said it was worth her entire trip to witness that... Alexandra and
Filippa Montan will hopefully be showing him in Sweden soon...look out
Europe!!
My grandbaby did distract me from some of the festivities. He and
Kristofer allowed me to soak up hugs and warmth. It's not easy being a
long distance mom/grandma. Good thing our mutual interest in Icelandics
takes us to such fun events together.
July!
Back from Iceland. Debbie, Katie and I trekked for days with my friends in
the North across a river valley, crossed lakes and rode at the North
Atlantic ocean! We became so infatuated with these horses that Debbie bought
FOUR of them... Her first Icelandics will join her herd of Friesians here in
San Diego County.
We herded 38+ horses about 15
miles a day. Each day was exciting and different with stops to change horses
and refresh ourselves with hot cocoa and lamb sandwiches! It was an
experience of a lifetime... I hope you can join me on my next adventure!
